Technology Licensing Advisory Committee
The Technology Licensing Advisory Committee provides advice and assistance to the Office of Technology Transfer and acts as liaison to faculty researchers and their schools and departments. The Committee is comprised of faculty members actively involved in the development or commercialization of intellectual property. Input from the Committee on licensing policies and procedures helps OTTED to better serve the University in licensing technology to industry for the public benefit.

Patent and Copyright Committee
The Patent and Copyright Committee interprets and applies the Patent and Copyright Policy of the University of Hawai’i, recommends procedures to evaluate inventions for patentability, scientific merit and economic feasibility, determines the patent or related rights or equities of the University and other interested parties in an invention and decides on the appropriate division of royalties, releases patent rights to the inventor in cases where it is deemed appropriate to do so, submits its decisions on patent and copyright matters to the President of the University for approval, provides assistance and advice to faculty and other research personnel concerning all aspects related to patenting inventions and the copyright in original works, and conducts an ongoing review of applicable policies and procedures.
